Nothing gets you more in touch with the environment than experiencing it. Get a front row seat to a waterfall, or experience the real 3D scenes from a hiking trail full of wild flowers, and Redwood trees.

As I was doing some research trying to find the best places I can hike and stay somewhat close to home, I found these 6 great locations. The review sites let you know if they are hard to hike, or if the trail is easy, whether it’s a good place to take a companion like your dog, or if you should avoid a certain area because of Poison Ivy.
